Sunday January 24th at 0324 hours, Engine 30 (2nd due), Truck 17 (1st due) & Ambulance 30 were alerted for the house fire at 46th Street and Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave, NE. Engine 30 arrived on location at the corrected address of 4427 Hunt Pl, NE with an auto on fire with extension into two neighboring houses. The main structure involved was a 2-story (with dormer) wood "balloon" frame house with fire showing. The Delta 1 exposure was a one-story wood-frame house under construction (no roof) with minor extension. BFC 2 changed the assignment assigning Engine 30 1st due. The crew stretched the 200' crosslay making quick work of all fire. Truck 17's crew threw 3 ground ladders, the aerial, as well as venting horizontally and vertically. Due to the type of construction, significant overhaul had to be performed. Units from the Heights operated until 0515 hours.
