What started out as an investigation of smoke in the area turned into a working house fire in Prince George's County. Engine 30, E19, E8, Truck 17 and BFC 2 responded to 58th and Eastern Avenue, DC, for smoke in the area. Units searched the surrounding blocks and with no other 9-1-1 calls indicating the correct address, Engine 30 eventually found a house off at 5704 K Street in Capitol Heights. Engine 30 stretched an attack line to the first floor while E8 took a handline to Side D and accessed the basement. E8 had a large volume of fire in the basement while Engine 30 reported fire on the 1st floor with several holes in the floor. DC units were assisted by PG Co 8, 33, 38 and PGFMO. All DC units cleared the scene at 0036.
