At 1228 hrs units with the 2nd Battalion Fire Chief were alerted for a report of smoke filling a home at 1201 42nd Place NE. 17 Truck responded as the first due truck, and Engine 30 clearing another run was placed 2nd due. Enroute units were advised that the caller was inside the home and unable to get out as it filled with smoke (further review of the print out actually states the caller was outside and unable to get in). Engine 27 and Truck 17 arrived on the scene of a 1 story single family wood frame home with smoke showing. With the report of a person trapped the interior team of the Truck went to work performing a rapid primary search as Engine 27 advanced a 1 ½” attack line to the first floor. Truck 17 outside team began throwing ladders, horizontally ventilating and opening up the roof. Engine 30 arrived and stretched a line to the rear, forcing the basement door along with Truck 13, and finding a cluttered living space in the basement on fire. 1st floor units held the stairs as Engine 30 knocked down the fire. With no extension found on the first floor and a negative search, the incident was scaled back to Engines 27 and 30 and Trucks 17 and 13. Units operated for just over an hour and a half before returning to service.
